Marine Corps Logistics Command (LOGCOM), headquartered at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia, is the Marine Corps' operational-level logistics command for fielded weapon systems, support services, and supplies. It links the Marine Corps Organic Industrial Base with operational logistics activities — executing depot-level maintenance, storage, and prepositioning — and its public site (logcom.marines.mil) carries command information, while LOGCOM's enterprise logistics applications sit behind CAC-gated portals rather than the public site.
What it is
LOGCOM provides worldwide, integrated logistics and supply-chain management, distribution management, maintenance management, and strategic prepositioning capability in support of the operating forces, aiming to maximize their readiness and sustainability and to support enterprise- and program-level Total Life Cycle Management. Its subordinate organizations include the Marine Corps Depot Maintenance Command (with production plants at Albany, Georgia, and Barstow, California), Marine Force Storage Command, Blount Island Command (Jacksonville, Florida), and centers such as the Supply Chain Management Center and Weapons Systems Management Center.
Who operates it
The U.S. Marine Corps operates LOGCOM as a major command within the Marine Corps Installations and Logistics Enterprise. LOGCOM was established July 9, 2003.
Access
The public LOGCOM website (logcom.marines.mil) is openly accessible and provides mission, organization, and program information; it no longer lists LOGCOM's logistics applications. Those applications — reached through the LCMI (Life Cycle Modeling Integrator) Portal at lcmi.logcom.usmc.mil — require an authorized account; first-time users request access through the portal, and a SAAR (System Authorization Access Request) may be required depending on the application.
How logisticians use it
Marine logisticians and supporting civilian/contractor personnel use LOGCOM's public site for command information, program and contract announcements, and points of contact, while turning to the LCMI Portal for enterprise logistics tools — including asset and readiness decision-support applications and total-life-cycle-cost tools — that support depot maintenance planning, supply-chain execution, and weapon-system sustainment.
