ID Card Office Online (IDCO) is the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) self-service site for ID-card and DEERS-related tasks, including a RAPIDS Site Locator and appointment-scheduling tool. It lets service members, DoD civilians, contractors, retirees, and registered dependents find a DEERS/RAPIDS ID card office, book an appointment, and complete several personnel functions online to reduce in-person visits. It is reached at idco.dmdc.osd.mil.

What it is

IDCO combines a public Site Locator & Appointments function (find a RAPIDS office and schedule a visit to issue or renew a CAC/ID) with authenticated self-service capabilities for sponsors to manage family-member ID-card and DEERS information. RAPIDS (Real-time Automated Personnel Identification System) is the system ID-card offices use to issue CACs and dependent ID cards. Self-service functions include nominating a family member for DEERS enrollment, viewing or printing a current family member list, requesting reissuance of a family member's ID card, and updating a sponsor's contact information.

Who operates it

The Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC), a center of the Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA), a DoD field activity. DMDC maintains DEERS and related identity/personnel systems DoD-wide.

Access

The Site Locator and appointment scheduling are publicly accessible without login. The self-service functions (family-member updates, DEERS nominations, contact-info changes) require authentication with a CAC or DS Logon, and are limited to sponsors and eligible DEERS-registered family members age 18 and over. The directory's stored access value of "public" is accurate only for the locator/appointment piece — the self-service portion is credentialed.

How logisticians use it

This is a personnel/ID-card administrative resource rather than a logistics system in its own right. Logisticians — like all DoD personnel — use it to locate a nearby RAPIDS office and book an appointment to obtain or renew a CAC, the credential required to access most of the logistics systems and portals in this directory. Sponsors also use it to manage dependents' ID card status without an in-person office visit.
